Rocking the MTVN Boat
Name: Judy McGrath
Title: President/CEO, MTVN
Name: Doug Herzog
Title: President, MTVN Entertainment Group
Age: 48
Years in Industry: “More than you.”
Years left in Industry: “More than you.”
Why Them? Despite restructuring challenges, music television muse McGrath remains undaunted in her drive to foster fresh thinking at 1515 Broadway, while at the same time driving hard to produce profits across multiple platforms. The shuffling of MTVN properties and personnel continued in ‘07, but so too did the onslaught of creative ways to expand its core properties, including the launch of some 25 Web sites devoted to specific shows like Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,” Nick’s “iCarly,” and MTV’s “Engaged and Underage.” Herzog—along with newly promoted Comedy Central president Michelle Ganeless—is also pushing hard to take MTVN entertainment to new territories. He helped orchestrate the recent deal to bring “South Park”-related content across the Web and mobile platforms.
