RGB Networks and CASTIS are teaming to deliver integrated VOD solutions designed to allow cable operators to deliver up to 50 percent more on demand content. Through the integration of RGB’s Dynamic Bandwidth Manager (DBM) and CASTIS’ Castanets cable VOD system, operators will be able to deliver dramatically more VOD programming without requiring more bandwidth or impacting picture quality.

The DBM is based on RGB’s Video Intelligence Architecture (VIA) and is designed to lower VOD bandwidth usage by up to 50 percent through the simultaneous processing of up to 1,200 programs. It processes VOD programs in real time and is compatible with all the major components of an end-to-end VOD system, including VOD servers, resource managers, QAM modulators, and existing set-top boxes.
