RCN Metro Optical Networks, a division of RCN Corporation, has expanded its premier colocation facility located at 111 8th Avenue in New York City. RCN Metro added cabinet and power capacity in direct response to continued demand from its customers.

The 111 8th Avenue colocation facility is a fully secure, temperature-controlled space, offering cabinets and bulk space. It features sophisticated power and HVAC systems capable of handling the demands of server technologies now and into the future.

"Three of the most critical factors in the selection of a colocation facility are location, power and cooling systems – our 111 8th Avenue facility delivers the very best in each of these areas," said Felipe Alvarez, President, RCN Metro, in a statement.

The 111 8th Avenue colocation facility is connected to RCN Metro’s backbone allowing access to high capacity Wavelength, Ethernet and SONET services on the RCN Metro network from Portland, Maine to Washington, DC out to Chicago and up to Toronto. RCN Metro has 24 colocation facilities throughout its footprint.
