Qwest Communications has announced the launch of new 3-, 5- and 7- Mbps Ethernet bandwidth services for businesses and organizations interested in deploying an Ethernet-based broadband network, or for cost-effectively connecting a remote office branch to a larger enterprise network.

Ethernet services can be used for data file transfer, off-site data storage and access to hosting, mail and file-server services, and application services. Ethernet is also well suited for voice and video applications, and provides access to the Internet.

The new 3-, 5-, 7-Mbps Ethernet services provide simplified integration of local area networks (LANs) across multiple locations and access to other networks with minimal investment in new equipment or expertise. Using virtual LANs, Qwest can connect multiple customer sites and maintain complete traffic separation and security for customers. The services also can be used for last-mile connectivity.
