Quantenna Communications has announced that its Full-11n 4×4 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) WiFi chipset has received the WiFi CERTIFIED n and WiFi Multimedia (WMM) designations from the WiFi Alliance.

Quantenna has developed its 4×4 MIMO technology to meet the stringent requirements of media-based applications like IPTV and whole-home video distribution. Whereas traditional wireless networks are designed to maximize throughput for data transport, the coming generation of wireless video and entertainment networks requires more reliable connections that minimize latency and packet loss during transmission. The more reliable the connection, the better the video quality, audio and video synchronization, video-game responsiveness and overall entertainment experience.
