— Va.-based WeFi Inc. tells wireless and cable operators its User Experience Topology (UXT) interactive research solution will give them multiple ways to research, visualize and analyze real-time and historical information collected by the company’s WeANDSF (WeFi enhanced Access Network Discovery and Selection Function). This function reportedly helps ensure subscribers remain connected to the best Wi-Fi hotspot, small cell or mobile network. Collected data includes the services used (voice, video, text, email, etc.), the bandwidth consumed at each location and how user experiences fluctuate over time. Time Warner Cable already is a customer.

— Wireless IP provider Cambium Networks now is offering the Gigatower, a wireless broadband-access product for wireless carriers and triple-play operators. Based on the Canopy PTM 450 platform, the Gigatower can provide more than 1 gigabit of broadband capacity while extending the coverage area to more than 75 square miles. It can be deployed in greenfield locations or to overlay existing DSL footprints to deliver HD video and IPTV along with voice and data services.
