— The first 20 vendors to complete the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE2.0) certification program are Accedian, Altera, BTI Systems, Ciena, Cisco, Cyan, FibroLAN, Huawei, Infinera, Juniper Networks, MRV, Omnitron, Overture, PT Inovacao, Pulsecom, RAD Data Communications, Telco Systems, Tellabs, Transition Networks and Transmode. The MEF’s CE2.0 adds such features as multiple class of service, greater manageability and easier interconnects for eight standard service types, enabling new levels of efficiency for mobile backhaul.

Comcast Business Hospitality is a new product suite consisting of 1 Mbps-10 Gbps Ethernet, Internet, video and voice services packaged in an integrated offering for the hospitality industry across Comcast’s entire coverage area. Hotels and motels can provide guests with 100 Mbps (download) and 10 Mbps (upload) Internet connectivity, voice services and as many as 60 HD channels in each room. Services can scale to meet growing business needs, seasonal demands and other peak usage periods.
