Sencore is offering a new tool for the video technician: a Web-based probe blade for monitoring and troubleshooting 10 GbE IP networks in large cable, IPTV and satellite broadcast chains.

Using the VB330 probe blade, the manufacturer says operators can view the inner workings of the provider’s 10 GbE backbone network and proactively correct errors in the IP transmission that could affect the customer’s viewing experience.

The VB330 can be equipped with one or two 10 GB Ethernet inputs, letting technicians monitor thousands of IP streams in central headends and network architectures. The device features a patented visual interface for measuring and monitoring IP signals throughout the network, and it can be controlled directly via a standard Web browser or by a VideoBRIDGE controller system.

In 2010, Sencore and Bridge Technologies partnered to provide Bridge’s VideoBRIDGE line of advanced video analysis, measurement, and monitoring tools to global broadcast, cable and satellite operators. Sencore now brands it under its own name.
