Transmode: Johan Wilsby will join this global supplier of packet optical-networking products and services as CFO sometime in the second quarter. Wilsby was recruited from Hewlett-Packard, where he was director/Finance & Administration for Nordic and Baltics. He also served a stint with Microsoft. Wilsby succeeds Tomas Kihlstrand, who is going back to consulting.
 
PacketVideo: Mark Tapling was named president/CEO, replacing the outgoing  founder and former CEO Dr. James Brailean, who will continue as an informal advisor to PacketVideo during the transition period. Tapling had been CEO of SDL plc Language Technologies, and he is a former Ernst and Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” award winner.

Comverse: Alli Avishai is the new vice president/Systems Integration and Delivery, Value-Added Services, effective Feb. 10. In this newly created position, she will lead the delivery, professional services and consultancy activities for Comverse’s Value-Added Services (VAS) portfolio. Avishai also will be GM for Comverse’s Tel Aviv location, where she will be based.
