Jeff Zucker, former president/CEO NBCUniversal, has been tapped to be president at CNN Worldwide. He will join the network in January, heading a portfolio that includes 23 branded news and information services, including CNN US, CNN International and HLN…John S. Chowdhury, utility practice director at Fujitsu Network Communications, was named to the board of directors for the Smart Networks Council (SNC), part of the Utilities Telecom Council (UTC) global trade association…Kyle Bräck joined Cassidian Communications as vice president/Programs and Customer Care for the company’s Land Mobile Radio (LMR)/Long Term Evolution (LTE) business unit. Bräck will oversee project execution and service delivery from the organization’s new Richardson, Texas, facility, which was opened in August. Prior to joining Cassidian, he worked for Northrop Grumman, where he was responsible for implementing public safety and homeland security command centers, emergency communications and wireless initiatives across the United States…Wireless distributor Brightstar Corp., hired Thomas J. Seifert as executive vice president/CFO, replacing Dennis J. Strand, who was been named president of Brightstar Financial Services, a new business unit focused on providing financing solutions for its global customers. Seifert had been CFO/senior vice president at Advanced Micro Devices…Tellabs’ board just named Daniel P. Kelly CEO/president; he had been serving in an “acting” capacity since June.
