In a move to distinguish itself in the small-to-medium business (SMB) market, Cablevision has announced that it is now offering its SMB customers the option to purchase a toll-free number with their Optimum Voice digital phone service.

"A toll-free number is an important customer enhancement for businesses conveying a more professional, established image in the marketplace," said Joseph Varello, Cablevision’s VP of Optimum Voice and Small Business product management.

Customers can manage their toll-free number through the Optimum Voice Web portal. Features
include the ability to change the toll-free point-to number to any Optimum Voice number on their account and to access call detail records that capture information like calling party number, location, date and time. This information can be used to evaluate the company’s marketing campaigns and is kept online for three months and is downloadable, which enables the customer to build a marketing database.
