OpenTV is powering a multi-platform interactive application for Australian provider Foxtel, that enables enhanced coverage of the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games.

The Olympic application allows Foxtel subscribers to view all four dedicated subscription channels in a mosaic – one for each of the Vancouver Olympics locations – and select one for full screen viewing.

Foxtel will broadcast 1,600 hours of coverage across four HD and four SD channels – with every gold medal event broadcast live and in full and every event with an Australian competitor broadcast live and in full.

The broadcast coverage is complemented by mobile and Web coverage served by the same back-end systems and database provided by OpenTV.

Foxtel’s coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games began on February 13.
