Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS named Viacom recipient of its ’04 Award for Business Excellence award for its worldwide awareness campaign "Know HIV/AIDS," Cable Positive tells us. And Cable Positive board member Dr Ruth Browne was among the "100 Women Who Shape NYC" as selected by the NY Daily News. She’s exec dir of the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health. — Hallmark Channel and Comcast brought actress Patty Duke to Illinois to tout original "Murder without Conviction" (Sept 5, 9/8c). — Just days before the Dems roll in for the convention, CTAM’s Summit jolts Boston with its "Full Throttle" motif (July 18-21), featuring HBO chief Chris Albrecht, Insight’s Michael Willner, agency chief Donny Deutsch and Carsey-Werner-Mandabach co-founder and Bosox chmn Tom Werner (anyone have tix for Fenway the night of the 21st?). — NY paparazzi missed the real show. Across the street from where P. Diddy debuted in "A Raisin in the Sun," a new crop of Broadway stars was christened at the Imperial Theater. "Queer Eye’s" Jai Rodriguez emceed as 54 students aged 10-17 showed off their new skills gleaned in Bravo’s "On With the Show" program. It’s the 3rd year for the award-winning initiative (that also sends $1K in scholarships to the winners’ schools), but the 1st time the kids came to NY to perform on B’way. With nary a flub, they belted show tunes, acted and hoofed their hearts out for a packed house. Congrats to: exec dir Fred Haug, NBC Cable vp Henry Ahn, Bravo vp Erica Conaty, their respective teams and the 14 ops (Comcast, Adelphia, Cox, Charter, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, Cablevision, Mediacom, Insight, GCI and Midcontinent Comm) for showing the true spirit of the arts, Bravo and B’way: creativity, teamwork, leadership, self-esteem and mostly how to have fun—especially on a rainy NY night. — Shirley Brady
