Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), and Communications Technology magazine are pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 Women in Technology Award. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 7, 2008.

Created in 1995 to recognize and honor leading women technology professionals, the annual Women in Technology Award acknowledges the achievements of one woman who has demonstrated outstanding personal and professional growth and significantly contributed to the cable telecommunications industry. To be eligible, a woman must be in a technical position in the cable or telecommunications industry and be a current member of WICT and SCTE, among other criteria.

The 2008 Women in Technology Award is sponsored by CommScope. The 2007 winner, Carolyn Terry, regional director, engineering, Time Warner Cable–Los Angeles, will present the 2008 Women in Technology Award during the Annual Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, June 25 at the 25th anniversary SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2008, which is set for Tuesday through Friday, June 24–27 in Philadelphia. The 2008 Women in Technology Award recipient also will be the subject of an upcoming Communications Technology magazine cover story.
