Nokia Siemens Networks has entered into an agreement to acquire key LTE and CDMA assets from Nortel. The planned $650 million acquisition is intended to bring together the complementary assets of the two companies in mobile radio access. The acquisition of Nortel’s profitable CDMA business is intended to improve Nokia Siemens’ presence in North America and make it a leading supplier of wireless infrastructure products in the region.
