Comcast is among the 20+ companies that have teamed up on an initiative to allow consumers to acquire and play content that they buy online across a wide range of devices and services. Other consortium members include NBCU, Fox and Microsoft. Comcast.net users can download the content onto their hand sets on an a la carte basis or using paid subscription-based credits. The portal’s mobile service will also offer Comcast email access, Web search and updated news.
