Lightower Fiber Networks has gone live with NetCracker Technology’s large-scale program to consolidate and manage its fiber-based infrastructure.

“NetCracker delivered a solution that meets Lightower’s immediate need to integrate recent acquisitions, manage our networks, and also help future-proof our operations as we continue on a path of aggressive corporate expansion,” says Jason Campbell, executive vice president/Operations and Engineering at Lightower.

Moving forward, Lightower asked NetCracker to conduct follow-on projects that will “further automate network operations and enhance operational efficiency.”

Mass.-based Lightower runs fiber-based networking solutions that include Ethernet, dark fiber, DWDM, SONET, Internet access and collocation services.

The NetCracker solution works with Lightower’s physical and logical infrastructure assets, and it manages of all network information and assets. It also automates the deployment process, “regardless of underlying network technology, geographical area, or former ownership,” NetCracker says. “Facilitating the introduction of new networks and services, NetCracker’s solution streamlines engineering operations, and improves Lightower’s ability to plan and fulfill client orders by reducing the time and effort required to accurately analyze resources throughout the network.”
