Net Insight, a developer of transport solutions for IP networks, has been selected by nine global media operators and major rights holder, including ESPN, to deliver live HD and 3D broadcasts of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

For the first time, the entire four-week event will be broadcast live in full HD to soccer fans in over 130 countries. To support this scale of broadcast, Net Insight’s Nimbra platform provides a solution for converged video, voice and data for next generation networks.

In addition to transporting hundreds of hours of live HD coverage, Net Insight will also transport ESPN’s 3D broadcast. The network plans to cover up to 25 games in 3D.
