The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) today announced that K. Dane Snowden, currently vice president for external and state affairs for CTIA – The Wireless Association, and formerly chief of the FCC Consumer and Government Affairs Bureau will join NCTA in the new role of chief of staff, working closely with NCTA President and CEO Michael Powell and Executive Vice President James Assey to oversee the association’s day-to-day operations as well as its planning and strategic initiatives.

Snowden assumes his position at NCTA on August 22.

Snowden joined CTIA – The Wireless Association in 2005, and he has managed and directed CTIA’s state policy and liaison efforts. Prior to joining CTIA, Snowden was chief of the FCC Consumer and Government Affairs Bureau where he was responsible for development and execution of the vision, strategic direction, telecommunications policy and management of the bureau’s activities and 300 employees.
