NAMIC’s Southern CA chapter reignited the Vision Awards Thurs night, bringing the once online event to a live setting at L.A.’s Pacific Design Center and honoring linear and digital content that reflects the experiences and contributions of people of color.

Among recipients was Creative Legacy Award winner Bill Duke, best known as an actor but who also produces thought-provoking docs like OWN’s upcoming “Dark Girls” examining perceptions of darker-skinned African Americans. In addition, Fox Deportes evp/gm Vincent Cordero took home the Corporate Leadership Diversity Award, declaring that “the face of America and the world has changed, and we are that face… Let’s all do our part to make sure that we all move forward together.”

One particular highlight was the co-hosts: comedian Ralph Harris and actress Michole White, who kept things light and often hilarious during the program.
