Mountain Cablevision Limited has entered into an agreement with an affiliate of Shaw Communications to sell its cable operation in Hamilton, Ontario and surrounding area, subject to CRTC approval.

Mountain Cable provides cable video, Internet, residential and commercial telephony services in the City of Hamilton and in towns situated in Haldimand County to the south of Hamilton, Ontario.

Mountain Cable has invested heavily in infrastructure over the past five years in order to deliver next generation communication services to its approximately 41,000 cable customers, 28,000 Internet subscribers and 27,000 telephone customers.

"We are proud of the successful communications company that we have built in Hamilton and surrounding area and there isn’t any doubt in my mind that we have chosen the right company to acquire Mountain and to continue our tradition of service through commitment to our employees and loyal customers," said Owen Boris who founded Mountain Cable 50 years ago.
