Motorola Mobility Holdings has acquired Three Laws Mobility (3LM), a developer of mobile enterprise security software and solutions and mobile device management products for the Android operating system. The agreement was completed in late 2010 and terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

3LM’s technology is designed to enable the adoption of Android devices by businesses and governmental entities. The 3LM technology addresses ease-of-use, cost-of-management and security concerns for IT managers and chief information officers by making Android devices more manageable within corporate environments.

In related news, 3LM, in conjunction with Sony Ericsson, HTC, Pantech and Sharp Electronics announced plans to launch a complete end-to-end mobile management solution based on the 3LM Android enterprise platform.

3LM expects to launch its mobile device management services for enterprises in the second quarter of 2011, in conjunction with devices from Motorola Mobility, HTC, Sony Ericsson, Pantech, Sharp and additional Android original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that will leverage the 3LM platform.
