Ohio’s Buckeye CableSystem will deploy Motorola Mobility’s APEX3000 sometime during the second quarter as a redundant edge Quadrature Amplitude Modulator (EQAM) platform for switched digital video and VoD services. The platform reportedly provides a migration path to Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) architecture. The APEX3000 supports 384 QAM channels per RU or a total of 1536 QAM channels per 4 RU chassis.
