The Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) has certified the LightGAIN system, made by optical networking specialist Optelian, for Ethernet Private Line applications.

The MEF certification program helps ensure products conform to MEF global Carrier Ethernet specifications through an independent testing process. It allows service providers to select standardized solutions, and to accelerate their deployment of new systems and services.

“MEF certification provides independent recognition that Optelian LightGAIN systems adhere to Carrier Ethernet standards. This gives our customers confidence that LightGAIN will deliver their services effectively without having to do their own verification and interoperability testing prior to deploying,” notes Sheldon Walklin, Optilian’s CTO.
