Massillon Cable TV Named 2012 ‘System of the Year’ by Communications Technology
Massillon, OH-based Massillon Cable TV Inc. is the 2012 recipient of Communications Technology magazine’s “System of the Year” award, which will be presented Oct. 17 during a special awards breakfast at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, concurrent with the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo, set for Oct. 16-19 at the Orange County Convention Center.
Criteria for the “System of the Year” award are set by the Communications Technology editorial team, which evaluates every aspect of how a system adapts to and implements ever-changing technology while continuing to provide excellent customer care and service.
“Massillon Cable TV has proved over and over that it is an innovator in the cable industry, and that it also is willing to share its expertise with other operators,” said Debra Baker, editor of Communications Technology magazine, an Access Intelligence LLC publication. “The most recent evidence of this is its participation in the development and deployment of the ‘Watch TV Everywhere’ initiative, which now has helped more than 80 members of the National Cable Television Cooperative offer their subscribers authenticated programming content across multiple screens.”
“It is a distinct honor to be named the Communications Technology System of the Year,” commented Robert Gessner, president at Massillon Cable TV. “The network engineers and technicians at Massillon Cable TV and Clear Picture work diligently to be innovative, cost-effective and, most importantly, to provide the very best possible service to our customers. They deserve all the credit for our technical achievements and this recognition. It is a testament to their efforts, and I couldn’t be more pleased that others have noticed their hard work.”
In addition to presenting the award in Orlando, Communications Technology will profile Massillon Cable TV and its team in the 4Q12 issue.
Recent “System of the Year” award winners include Buckeye CableSystem (2011), Sunflower Broadband (2010) and Comcast Oregon/SW Washington (2009).
