Maria Popo

President/Chief Business Officer
Ubee Interactive
After taking over Ubee’s small cell business last year, Popo brought it from negative to positive operating profit—in just a few short months. She’ll take on more global responsibility in the coming year and market new product portfolios for the cable industry and more software innovation in wireless. Her favorite part of the gig? Learning from colleagues. “Technology is moving quickly, so it’s the daily discussions with the SMEs that are an important part to successfully predicting what will most impact the business.”
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Learning from my colleagues! Technology is moving quickly so it’s the daily discussions with the SMEs that are an important part to successfully predicting what will most impact the business.
Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?
Creating a workplace that actually supports life balance. I see it as a fail if the parking lot is full at 7pm. There’s enough time in a week for some combination of working remotely and in-office collaboration.
Who would you want to swap jobs with for a month and why?
Mike Fries, CEO of Liberty Global. I would enjoy having the inside view of the world’s largest global cable operator and its various international markets plus take part in all the M&A activity.
