Secure machine-to-machine (M2M) products and services provider Numerex Corp. says its Location-Based Services (LBS) platform targets enterprises that need scalable solutions for monitoring, tracking and recovering a wide variety of mobile assets.

The LBS platform is built on Numerex FAST (the company’s horizontal service delivery platform that includes Network as a Service [Numerex NaaS] that manages disparate wireless connectivity options) and Platform as a Service (Numerex PaaS) that enables data consolidation, manipulation, and delivery; and Software as a Service (Numerex SaaS) that provides intelligent Web-based applications.

The platform includes such key features as:

>> "Slap and Map" simplicity: Tracking devices can be installed, activated and visible on a mapping application.
>>  Satellite and cellular options: Connectivity is tailored to meet budget and geographic needs.
>>  Motion Alert: Users know when the asset goes into motion and can track its movement.

"The cost of setting up and deploying a solution requiring cellular or satellite coverage used to break the business model except for very high value assets. With our new LBS platform, users can show a return on investment even for assets worth only a few thousand dollars," comments Darren Koenig, vice president/Marketing and Products.
