What’s your favorite part of your job?
Constantly changing challenges that have to be solved creatively at an insane pace? That’s my perfect work scenario, and I get it every day here. And while in some places lawyers are seen as obstacles to progress, I really feel like I’m working with, not against, the business here: it’s a great spirit of collaboration with an amazing group of people.
Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?
I know the right answer is “delegate, delegate, delegate,” or “don’t sweat the small things” etc., and I try! But my more honest answer is this trifecta: give up sleep; have a really great husband/partner; and find and rely on a great support team including a wonderful assistant at work and a terrific and trusted babysitter/right-hand at home.
Who would you want to swap jobs with for a month and why?
I would grab the chance to be an emergency room doctor—fast pace, on the spot diagnoses, a million stories (during law school I volunteered at Mass General, so it’s obviously been a longtime fantasy). I’d also love to run the beautiful inn we stayed at in Vermont last summer, so I could plant in the garden, and cook in the enormous kitchen, and be in this totally ethereal, peaceful place.
