Advisor, AMC Networks

After nine years of service at WE tv, Martin this fall stepped down to become an advisor to the network’s parent company AMC. Her departure follows a summer in which she helped her former network release its largest slate of original programming to date, a passion area for Martin. “I love screening sizzles, attending focus groups, hearing firsthand from the executive producers what is happening on set, etc.” says Martin. “I could go on and on.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of the job is the programming, of course! I love screening sizzles, attending focus groups, hearing first hand from the EPs what is happening on set, etc. I could go on and on.

How do you define success in the workplace?
Success in the workplace is creating an environment where people enjoy coming to work each day and happily give 110% of themselves. The company’s financial success is a by-product of those satisfied employees.

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?
I’m not sure there is a balance – there is definitely an ebb and flow between the two. Ultimately, life is about being happy and fulfilled both personally and professionally.
