How does she balance the inevitable long hours that come during deal talks? Taking advantage of unanticipated free time. “Impromptu personal plans can make you feel like you’re stealing a little time back,” she says.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of the job is its unpredictability. (Of course, that also drives me nuts sometimes!) But the constantly changing nature of this job makes it incredibly interesting and challenging all at the same time.
 
Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

It is being able to improvise. We’ve all had the unfortunate experience of cancelling personal plans for professional obligations. So I think it’s important to counterbalance that by taking advantage of unanticipated free time. Impromptu personal plans can make you feel like you’re stealing a little time back.
