JDSU is unveiling a handheld, battery-powered tunable laser source, the TLS-55 Smart Optical tester.  The tester is designed to support ROADM network test applications and is fully compatible with the JDSU optical spectrum analyzer for the T-BERD/MTS-8000, which measures the optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) in Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) networks.  The TLS-55 will be introduced at Broadband World Forum Europe 2007 in Berlin, October 8-11.
