itaas has licensed the Comcast Reference Development Kit (RDK), a pre-integrated software bundle that powers tru2way, IP or hybrid set-top boxes and includes the CableLabs OCAP Reference Implementation software along with other open-source components. 

According to itaas, “This agreement will enable itaas to provide software development, integration and testing services to set-top-box and chip manufacturers as well as MSOs who are planning to take advantage of the RDK initiative.”

The Comcast RDK initiative, it adds, “will provide a streamlined approach to the development and deployment of advanced set-top, gateway and System on a Chip (SoC) platforms. itaas will offer services and engineering teams to expedite development and time to market.”
 
“itaas has always focused on accelerating advanced services to consumers,” adds Vibha Rustagi, CEO and president at itaas. “In licensing RDK, we will leverage our depth and breadth of experience with industry-leading chipsets and middleware platforms, making us an ideal partner for providers looking to deploy RDK-based solutions or vendors porting RDK to their hardware.”
