With caller ID, it’s harder to make prank phone calls. But there’ll be an opportunity Thurs to find out if Buford’s Ben Hooks has Prince Albert in a can. Ben’s going to man the phones at his Tyler, TX, HQ while secretary Brenda Herber and husband are living it up in NYC on Hooks’ dime. Hooks got the gig after filling out his CableFAX 100 questionnaire. When asked who he’d like to switch jobs with, Hooks wrote: "My secretary, so I could see what it’s like to work for me. I suspect I’d be fired within a week." Now he’ll find out. (For the record, we’re told there’s nobody on his staff named Jacques Strappe, Ivanna Tickle or Mike Rotch…)
