Good news for Outdoor is that it’s still on the air there. The 2 keep negotiating, not just for NE, but also for other TW markets considering dropping/moving the net. — The FL House passed a statewide franchising bill Wed, but it probably won’t go much further-especially with the session set to end Fri. The FL Senate has favored a more local approach to franchising. — DC will do anything to try and get Comcast to carry Nationals net MASN, even if it means passing meaningless legislation. The DC Council unanimously passed an order Tues requiring Comcast to begin carrying the net or face renegotiating its franchise. Sorry, DC. Comcast’s lawyers are smart enough to know that fedl law prevents local govts from mandating programming.
