Charter [CHTR] said it may sue chmn Paul Allen if the two parties don’t resolve an ongoing dispute by Feb 6. Dow Jones reports that the grievance revolves around Allen’s Feb 2000 acquisition of a stake in Charter subsidiary CC VIII. — When it comes to premium TV service, people seem to have the biggest problem with that whole "thou shalt not steal thing." Exhibit A is the group of 5 SC men who became the 1st in the US to face jury trials for allegedly stealing DirecTV signals via "smart cards." DirecTV has sued 18K people nationwide for signal theft.
