From last Friday’s edition of sister pub CableFAX Daily: We were saddened to hear that our good friend CED magazine publisher Roger Brown passed away Wednesday night after an 8-month battle with cancer, aged 46. A measure of Brown’s professionalism is that he has so many supporters at our parent Access Intelligence, a company he competed against for most of his 20 years at Reed Business Information. "Roger was a true leader and a real ‘white hat’ for both the cable and publishing industries," said Jerry Gunderson, publisher of Communcations Technology. "He was a class act and will be missed. Our business lost some of its light last night." A fund has been set up for his wife and four children, ages 7-17. Send donations to: Roger Brown Family Account, c/o First American State Bank, 8390 E. Crescent Pkwy, Suite 100, Greenwood Village, CO 80111. If you never had the privilege of meeting Roger, see his blog (http://rbrowner.blogspot.com/) for a better understanding of what he went through with grace and class. Services will be held next Friday, 1 p.m., Cherry Hills Community Church, Highlands Ranch, Colo.
