The first fruit of Comcast’s development deal with Sony will result in a horror network that will launch on Halloween. The ad-supported network will launch via VOD and broadband; a wireless platform will be added eventually. The channel will use films from Sony’s horror library, Comcast pres, emerging nets Diane Rubina told CableFAX. So why is horror the 1st offering? Horror accounted for 20% of the films released last year; they gross $1bln/year; and attracts the 18-34 demo, Rubina said.
