Honors
ESPN and HBO tied for tops in cable at the Sports Emmys, with each net taking 6 statuettes (1 of Bristol’s went to ESPN2). HBO’s collection included a pair for "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel," plus a shared honor with NBC for studio host Bob Costas. "SportsCenter" earned 2 for ESPN, and awards also went to Joe Morgan (baseball) and Dick Enberg (Wimbledon). NFL Net and TNT received 1 Emmy each. — HBO led all nets with 3 wins at the 11th NAMIC Vision Awards, including a pair of wins for "Something the Lord Made." Comedy Central was the only other net to take multiple honors, earning 2 trophies for "Chappelle’s Show." Other winners include: Nick at Nite, Disney Channel, CNN, BET and Fox Sports Espanol. Starz InBlack will present an edited version of the awards show at a date tba. — Cable racked up a handful of honors at this weekend’s L.A. GLAAD Media Awards, including HBO’s "Six Feet Under" (best drama), Showtime’s "Jack," (best TV movie) and Bravo’s "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" & MTV’s "Real World: Philadelphia" (splitting the best reality nod).
