David Watson
Title: EVP, operations, Comcast Cable

David Juliano
Title: EVP, marketing & product development, Comcast Cable

Why Them? These are a couple of “behind the scenes” guys who deserve some recognition high up in our list—especially considering the increasingly nasty competitive environment that has emerged in the last year. Watson’s reach extends across all 5 Comcast divisions, with responsibilities ranging from marketing to new business development to Comcast Spotlight. Yet despite his broad breadth of responsibility, he helps Comcast maintain consistency across its many systems. One of Watson’s main reports is Juliano, who also stays somewhat out of the limelight but wields enormous influence over Comcast’s video, online, voice and wireless businesses, as well as product development, marketing and sales, and deployment. It’s a big job made even more important by the need to leverage the bundle in the face of growing competition. Of course, few doubt Juliano’s ability to find success: When he ran Comcast Online from ’99 to ’04, he helped grow the business from 80,000 customers to more than 6.5mln. Not bad.  MG
