GPON Analyzer Monitors FSAN Interop
The Full Service Access Network (FSAN) held a GPON interoperability test event last week on the French Riviera, as a press release from a Spanish-based test and measurement company just reminded us.
Hosted by France Telecom and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), FSAN’s eighth GPON interop event took place from June 22-26 in Sophia Antipolis, France. (For more background on the telco-exclusive FSAN and their seventh event, held last October, click here.)
Participating in last week’s event was the GPON Doctor 8000, a monitoring and analysis device built as a joint-venture product of Spanish-based Telnet RI and Technalia.
The GPON Doctor was on hand “to monitor and evaluate more than 40 interoperability pairing sessions between GPON equipment from different vendors, assisting in the identification and evaluation of interoperability problems between them,” according to the statement from the two companies.
A key component of the device is software that uses dynamic rules to assess compliance of network equipment, such as the ONT, with GPON standards.
