A major upgrade deployed by GlobeCast Australia allows it to deliver MPEG-4 services on the Optus D2 DTH satellite platform. GlobeCast starts its MPEG-4 service with channel partner RTS SAT, the Australian arm of EURO World Network (EWN) that operates a DTH and IP service using GlobeCast Australia DTH distribution on Optus D2. RTS SAT will be available in both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 until the end of the year…Streaming media provider Octoshape partnered with INVISO to deliver Internet TV contribution services throughout Latin America. The Octoshape Infinite Uplink service provides point-to-point distribution of TV signals over the Internet for source signal acquisition to traditional IPTV and cable headends as an alternative to satellite and video fiber. As part of the deal, INVISO has access to Octoshape’s most recent innovation, Infinite HD-M. Infinite HD-M, that brings the scale, quality and economics of traditional broadcast TV to broadband TV. Telco and cable operators that are part of the Infinite HD-M federated global network receive signals via native IP Multicast over broadband in a way that allows them to manage large volumes of traffic without upgrading their Internet capacity or their network infrastructure, Octoshape says.
