Oi is using Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi to complement its existing mobile network by injecting needed capacity in high-traffic urban areas where data traffic can be offloaded to carrier-class Wi-Fi infrastructure…The E7-2 Ethernet Service Access Platform (ESAP) from Calix Inc. has been chosen to provide ultra-fast advanced broadband services via Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) technology to a $65 million new housing project in Derwenthorpe, Yorkshire, U.K. Nearly 550 homes will receive high-speed data services as fast as 1Gbps, advanced TV services via Integrated Reception Systems (IRS) as well as Voice over IP (VoIP) services. Created by the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, Derwenthorpe is a new development on the outskirts of the city of York, designed as an example of sustainable community living for villages of the future.
