Pace plc in the U.K. is providing the services and technology behind SKY New Zealand and TVNZ’s new TV service, dubbed “Igloo,” that will offer digital TV, VOD and navigation features. Igloo will run Pace’s Elements software platform on a Pace DVB-T2 DTT hybrid IP set-top box. Once installed, Igloo subs get all terrestrial free-to-air channels for free. In addition, they get access to a prepaid premium channel pack, pay-per-view sporting events and a transactional video on demand (TVOD) catalog of more than 1,000 items…euNetworks Group Limited cut over a 8.8 Terabyte fiber based network between London to Dublin, completing the meshing of euNetworks’ 13 fiber-based city networks into a single optical domain throughout Europe. Company officials note, “This network development means we are truly offering our clients a seamless experience with metro wavelengths, wavelengths, Ethernet and Internet across our footprint.”
