— Germany-based Access Co. Ltd. will launch AccessMyTV 2.0 at the upcoming TV Connect show in London, targeting content providers that want to promote their existing libraries or augment them with available Internet content. New features include-social TV enhancements and operator-specific APIs for security functionality. The APIs include simplified media sharing between TV/STBs, PCs, tablets and smartphones; content-sharing; and enhanced user authentication and encrypted data transfers to protect consumer information.
— Verizon is rolling out Networkfleet on the Verizon Wireless network, providing a variety of monitoring and management capabilities for increased fleet productivity and improved customer service. Networkfleet (part of Hughes Telematics, acquired by Verizon last year) offers such key features as GPS fleet tracking, asset tracking, fleet maps, vehicle diagnostics with alerts, roadside assistance, preventive maintenance and other management tools. An initial 18,000 company vehicles will be equipped this year. Moving forward, Verizon says its offering can be used by those in the transportation, energy/utilities, government, retail/distribution, construction, insurance and media/entertainment verticals.

The offering integrates OTU4 framing, ultra FEC, full C-band tunability and 100GE performance monitoring in a 100-percent MSA-compliant CFP form factor with a standard CAUI interface. The company also announced the Armada 1000-GM, a 1RU 100G WDM transport solution offering 100G transponder and 10G/40G muxponder functions into a tunable CFP-based OTU4 100G uplink.
