CTAM’ers were on high alert Mon with the DC area plagued by flash flooding from heavy downpours. Staffers made it into the waterfront Alexandria, VA, office OK Mon (though some streets were closed), but were keeping an eye out for possible flooding of the Tidal Basin. With as much as 7 inches of rain falling Sun night, several DC area roads were closed and some of the stops on the city’s Metro train were shut down. The federal govt told its 280K area workers that they could take leave time if they were unable to get to work. Cable execs we spoke with Mon all made it into the office, but it took several 2 hours or more to get in. Several of BET’s execs lucked out as they were in L.A. preparing for tonight’s BET Awards. "Hopefully, it’ll be dry by the time we’re back at the end of the week," one staffer told us.
