The FCC approved AT&T and BellSouth’s merger Friday, creating the largest telecom merger in U.S. history. The Commission concluded that significant public interest benefits are likely to result from the transaction, including deployment of broadband throughout the entire AT&T-BellSouth in-region territory in 2007.
