Evolution Digital Chooses Softel To Power Interactive Solutions

Evolution Digital has become a licensed reseller of Softel’s MediaSphere playout solutions. Evolution Digital will use the MediaSphere product line to offer new interactive solutions to cable operators.

Evolution Digital has developed services based on a customized version of the Softel MediaSphere interactive TV playout system to send service and event information to Evolution’s DTA and CableCard devices in subscriber locations. Evolution Digital will also use MediaSphere to provide software updates to subscriber devices in an MSO footprint.

"This customized MediaSphere platform will allow cable operators to manage multiple networks containing mixed subscriber equipment from a single server, dramatically decreasing the total cost of ownership to deploy our solution," said Perfecto Martinez, director of engineering at Evolution Digital, in a statement. "This solution will be offered in a pay-as-you-grow model, allowing cable operators to launch a few sites at first, but grow the system to manage many more as their business grows."
