Evolution Digital, Avail-TVN and Conax have launched a turn-key content and conditional access (CA) hosted solution for US cable operators. The new hosted solution will allow cable operators to deploy Evolution digital terminal adapters (DTAs) with Conax content security and delivers a full content line-up of MPEG-4 encoded live programming, provided by digital media services provider Avail-TVN.

Conax content security, set-top control, SI and CableCARD support will be hosted at Avail-TVN’s Super Headend in Burbank, CA.

CoBridge and Zito Media are the first operators to sign up for the new hosted solution. CoBridge recently purchased 36 systems located in seven states. CoBridge is taking an aggressive strategy to reclaim bandwidth and launch MPEG-4 without completing a full rebuild. Zito Media started deploying a centralized MPEG-4 solution with Evolution and Avail-TVN several months ago. Switching to the hosted solution will allow Zito Media to accelerate their deployment schedule.
