EPIX, a joint venture between Viacom, its Paramount Pictures unit, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Lionsgate, has announced EPIX Megaplex to deliver online movies to EPIX subscribers at epixhd.com.

In October 2009, EPIX will launch its premium entertainment channel, video on demand and online service on Verizon FiOS and with other distribution partners. EPIX Megaplex is also helping its content providers to migrate movies from analog to digital format. The digital conversion effort will be completed in 2010.

“EPIX Megaplex is an unprecedented push to create the largest and most in-depth catalog of movies continuously available online to our subscribers,” said Emil Rensing, chief digital officer, EPIX. “We have begun a digital migration that will help our distribution partners offer the deepest movie programming option to their customers.”
