Envivio’s 4Caster C4 has been selected by Guangzhou Digital Media Group to provide the HD and SD video encoding for a Chinese interactive TV service based on the Microsoft Mediaroom platform.

Guangzhou DMG’s Zhujiang Digital connected TV service operates alongside the company’s existing analog and MPEG-2 digital services, is delivered via IP across the same network, and uses MPEG-4 AVC compression provided by Envivio.

Guangzhou Digital Media Group is the largest cable TV network operator in Guangzhou City with around 2.5 million subscribers.
